Birthdays

We had a great time last weekend having a birthday for our Mimi and Dave's sister Kim. We had a great dinner at the Olive Garden and then enjoyed a cake that I made myself from scratch-very domestic right?! My sister Mary gave me the term "rustic" which she uses to describe homemade cakes. I think that described this one to a T! lol Nevertheless we still had fun. Mimi got a wonderful vase for her birthday and then we also gave her a pumpkin soup tureen, which you can enjoy in some of the pictures. It's always fun to be with family and I have become even more grateful for my wonderful "second family" this past year. What a blessing they are to me!!

Where to Start

Yes I've gotten behind on the blog. Mostly I have some cute pics to share with you. We went to the buzz game with the kids on Sep. 1st and they had awesome fireworks. Their Uncle Rob even gave them this cool light up baseball to hold up during the fireworks. That has been mesmerizing for weeks!
Matthew even got to catch one of the game balls. It was awesome, you would have thought he won the lottery!!

We had a lot of fun, unfortunately, the next day I was very sick and that has stuck around with me for awhile. Enough said about that! :-) We also went to Lagoon a couple of weeks ago. I have decided that Lagoon is really scarey actually. I think I always new this, but it was really solidified this last time. Even the kids rides are a little sketchy. And Lagoon is really wasted on Dave and I because we have no opportunity to go on any rides together. Although at one point I did feel like just grabbing Dave's hand, throwing caution to the wind, and going on roller coasters for the rest of the night. Always your dream as a teenager to attend Lagoon with a boyfriend. Oh well! We still had fun.
